Sheridan, WY— Peyton Coxwell, a second-year Sheridan College student from Laurel, Montana, has been awarded the Leaders of Promise scholarship by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. This scholarship is given to students in Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges, who demonstrate academic achievement and leadership potential.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Peyton and our exceptional leadership and advising team for their unwavering commitment to empowering our students,” said SC President Walt Tribley. “Through their dedication, we are creating invaluable opportunities for students to enhance their leadership skills while effectively pursuing their educational aspirations. Programs like PTK not only foster personal growth but also prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.”
Coxwell was chosen from nearly 1,500 applicants for her commitment to both her studies and community involvement. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, she has consistently shown dedication to her academic work and leadership roles.
Currently enrolled in the Health Science track at SC, one of the most demanding undergraduate programs offered, Coxwell continues to work hard in her studies. Her efforts in this challenging field made her a strong candidate for the Leaders of Promise scholarship, according to PTK Advisor Angel Sparkman. “The Iota Theta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is so proud of our Peyton Coxwell as our newest Coca-Cola Leader of Promise recipient,” said Sparkman. ” This scholarship is a fitting recognition of her dedication and we look forward to her continued leadership development at Sheridan College.”
The funds provided by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation not only aid college completion but also give students the opportunity to engage in Society programs and develop leadership skills to become future leaders in their communities.
