Dr. Rachel Kristiansen is a Sheridan native who is now a full-time faculty member at Sheridan College in the Psychology Department. She received her doctorate in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011. During her graduate career, she studied various species of cetaceans (dolphins and whales) in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. Her doctoral dissertation examined personality factors in horses across the globe. She currently serves as the program director for Second Chance Sheridan Cat Rescue and completed a Master of Science in Shelter Medicine from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2018. In her free time, she enjoys playing violin with the Sheridan College Symphony Orchestra.
