Katie Hiller has been a Registered Nurse since 2007, when she graduated from the University of Wyoming. She started her career on the medical surgical floor at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, WY. From there, Hiller moved to public health nursing and most recently worked at Sheridan Memorial Hospital for six years as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist RN. Through this role, Ms. Hiller became passionate about helping people with diabetes and is a member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and a certified insulin pump trainer for several different brands. She seeks roles that focus on educating patients and finds herself naturally drawn to educating people. Hiller plans to pursue a master’s degree in nursing.
Ms. Hiller joined the Health Sciences Department at Sheridan College in the Fall of 2022 as the Edward A. Whitney Endowed Health Science Chair. This position supports the health science programs and allows her to aid faculty in educating students and other various supporting roles.
Sheridan County is home to Ms. Hiller, and she was raised on a ranch outside of Parkman. She continues to enjoy the agricultural lifestyle, including gardening and raising various livestock species. She is a 4-H leader, and her children are very involved in the 4-H program. Katie and her family enjoy traveling and participating in livestock shows. When they have spare time, her family enjoys golfing, going to the mountains, or enjoying local music.
