Christian Erickson is the Visual and Performing Arts programs Chairman and the coordinator of the Music Theory and Music Technology programs at Sheridan College. He holds music theory and composition degrees from the University of Wyoming, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Colorado.
He currently makes his home in the mountain hamlet of Story, WY, where he divides his time between completing commissions for original compositions, providing orchestration and notation services, designing sound for live theatre, and teaching at Sheridan College.
Dr. Erickson has produced works in a variety of genres and styles. His music features an eclectic mix of influences ranging from Impressionism to jazz to non-Western music. He has enjoyed premieres both regionally and nationally. Recent projects include Ante Lucem for flute, double bass, piano, and electronics; Sonatina for Electric Bass and Piano; and the score to Three Meditations, a collaboration with Sheridan College dance professor, Stephanie Koltiska.
