Cheryl Brockman began teaching criminal justice classes at Sheridan college in the fall semester of 2023. Cheryl believes that her role as an educator is to encourage critical thinking within her students, while also giving them an understanding of how to effectively analyze the information presented to them.
Cheryl previously worked in a law enforcement role as a federal agent with the Department of Defense Office of Special Investigations (OSI). In preparing for that role, Cheryl attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers’ Criminal Investigator Training Program, and the National Security Agency’s Technical Surveillance and Technical Surveillance Countermeasures training courses.
As a federal agent, she conducted felony level criminal investigations involving DoD interests both within the United States and abroad. In this role she often worked closely with international law enforcement partners such as the Tokyo Police Department to further OSI case resolutions overseas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Penn State University, and her master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida. Cheryl was later promoted to a supervisory special agent role and was responsible for advising and training junior agents on criminal and counterintelligence case management and field work. Over the course of her career Cheryl ran, advised on, or conducted surveillance in support of cases involving allegations such as murder, arson, cartel drug trafficking hubs, and other serious offenses to criminal law.
