Science Museum Lecture Series: Margo Hennet on The Real Differences Between Wolves & Dogs

Wednesday, Sept. 18, 7:00 pm in Mars Ag Center room 201.
Lecture will be in-person and live streamed – link available at www.sheridan.edu/lectures
Abstract: Everyone knows that dogs are descendants of wolves, but how different are they, really? In this lecture we will discuss the distinctions between wolves and dogs, including genetics, anatomy, behavior, and more. We will explore how cohabiting with humans has fundamentally changed dogs from their ancestors, and how it makes their needs different in terms of diet, enrichment, and health.

Biosketch: Margo Hennet is a veterinarian living in Story, WY. She earned her veterinary degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO and then completed postdoctoral specialty training in Internal Medicine in Boulder, CO. She has professional experience in research, clinical practice, and the pet care industry. Her two mostly-good dogs are a constant inspiration to improve pet quality of life and veterinary awareness everywhere she can. Her husband and two boys (dogs are easier) complete the pack and keep her busy hiking, exploring, and playing music.
