Saturday, January 18th at 7pm in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College.

New York City based artists Julia Henderson and Josh Henderson performing a Folk-inspired Duo-Recital with traditional, classical and contemporary selections for the violin and cello.

Julia Henderson: Recent performances have found cellist Julia Henderson at Bargemusic, Carnegie Hall, the Joyce theater, HERE Arts Center and in other venues throughout New York City. A versatile performer, Julia is a member of New Haven Symphony and the Sarasota Opera Orchestra, and has appeared with the Rochester Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Britten-Pears Orchestra, Aspen Festival Orchestra, and others. She is the cellist of Desdemona Ensemble, a chamber group that brings eclectic and exciting programming to intimate venues throughout New York City, most recently in the premiere of the chamber opera “Magdalene,” and she performs regularly throughout the US with chamber music theatre group Core Ensemble. Julia has spent three summers performing and teaching on the island of Montserrat, West Indies, as faculty with the Montserrat Music Festival.

Josh Henderson: enjoys a multi-faceted career as a cross-genre violinist, violist, and composer. As a classical soloist, he has performed with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, China Performing Arts Broadcasting Troupe, Starling Chamber Orchestra, Accent X Festival Orchestra, Colour of Music Festival Orchestra, Bard Conductors Festival Orchestra, Colour of Music Virtuosi, Palaver Strings, Urban Playground Chamber Orchestra, Harlem Chamber Players, Contemporaneous, New-Gen Orchestra of Curacao, Ensemble Du Monde, the CCM Showcase Orchestra and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, and The Forbidden City Concert Hall of Beijing.
