Technical Center

The Sheridan College Technical Center serves Welding, Construction, Diesel and Machine Tool Technology students. Due to an increased demand for these programs, the college completed a 13 million dollar renovation and expansion of this facility that was completed in fall 2018.

Meeting the needs of students and industry

The Technical Center is key to training tomorrow’s workforce. The Center features 52,000 total square feet of instructional training labs, classrooms and flexible space. In addition to a complete remodel of the existing space, the expansion includes a brand new welding lab; a wheeled lab addition to the diesel lab; and new classrooms, faculty offices and common areas for students.

State-of-the-art labs and equipment

The new Welding Lab features 30 indoor welding stations where students learn stick welding, MIG, and TIG welding. It also houses a computer-controlled plasma cutter, a robotic welder and two outdoor grinding areas with views of the Bighorn Mountains from the south area.

The new Diesel Lab houses a diesel hydraulics lab, a high bay lab with bridge and jib cranes, wash bay, components lab, and a Dynamometer.

The Machine Tool Technology Lab features 12 CNC machines, one of which cuts on 5 axis, lathes, mills, and a traditional shop, 3-D printers, and a Zeiss Duramax CMM.

The Center also provides Construction Technology students with an indoor learning space to practice carpentry techniques.
