Josh Michelena M.Ed. is the director/instructor of the Construction Technology program and the CTE Co-Chair at Sheridan College. He focuses on providing opportunities for students pursuing careers in the construction trades industry through community partnerships and collaborations with local contractors.
The Construction Technology program partners with industry and Habitat for Humanity to provide students with job-site industry experience working in the field with skilled crafts people. Josh has designed the program to transition students from secondary to post-secondary and into a federal carpentry apprenticeship program that leads to federal journeyman carpenter completion.
Josh has been a career and technical educator for 14 years. Prior to his position at Sheridan College, he taught construction technology and wood fabrication for five years in the secondary setting. In both settings, has worked directly with industry and local building associations to grow and develop the programs.
