Sheridan College graduate Bailey Hassler is the recipient of the 2020 President’s Award. This award is presented each year to a graduating sophomore based on cumulative GPA and their participation and leadership within both Sheridan College and the broader community.
Hassler is from Billings, Montana, and received her Associate of Science in Health Science this spring. She returned to Sheridan College this fall to pursue her Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene and her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Wyoming concurrently, which she expects to complete by May 2021.
“Bailey is described as exemplifying all that we hope to see in our students,” said President Dr. Walt Tribley. “She has gone above and beyond and we’re proud of her hard work and dedication to Sheridan College.”
During her time at Sheridan College, Bailey has served as a Resident Assistant, Student Partner for the Sheridan College Foundation, a microbiology laboratory assistant and an active member of TRIO and the TRIO Club. In addition, she volunteers at the Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter, represents Sheridan College at 3rd Thursday events in downtown Sheridan and is learning sign language to be better able to assist her future patients.
“I want to thank Sheridan College for providing me with excellent instructors who are so passionate about what they do and for the quality education I receive here,” said Hassler. “Thank you also to the Sheridan community for their support of our students.”
Hassler will give a speech during Sheridan College’s 2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony that will be premiered on Facebook Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. Mountain Time.
