Engineering Degree

From bridges and skyscrapers to airplanes and mechanics, engineers design, construct and supervise projects of all kinds. Engineers are highly trained to develop and oversee development and construction, using advanced math and science skills. Northern Wyoming Community College District’s (NWCCD) Engineering program will give you the background you need in math and engineering science to transfer into a Bachelor’s degree program anywhere in the nation.

As an Engineering student, you will develop analytic skills to solve problems using appropriate engineering methods; incorporate technology in addressing engineering applications; and design experimental methods to solve problems.

Your Engineering course schedule will include Calculus, Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics and more. Earning an Associate of Science in Engineering will prepare you to pursue advanced training and enter the Engineering field.

Industry Outlook

The field of Engineering is broad and diverse. Civil engineers are in demand to manage, repair and rebuild outdated infrastructure such as roads, bridges and dams. Environmental engineers are needed to help government agencies address environmental issues and sustainability. These challenges, along with many more, present new job opportunities for Engineers across the nation. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 11% job growth for civil engineers, adding an estimated 32,200 jobs from 2016-2026. The field of environmental engineers will add 4,500 jobs, while petroleum engineers will add 5,100 jobs.

NWCCD partners with colleges and universities across the region to ensure your credits will transfer after completing your Associate degree in Engineering. Upon graduation, you will be equipped to enroll in Bachelor’s degree program and start pursuing higher education in an Engineering specialty.
