The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees invites the public to participate in two Open Forum Meetings to discuss the position announcement that will be used in the recruitment for a new president. The meetings are as follows:
Gillette College Campus
January 19 at 8:30–9:30 a.m. – Open Public Forum – Gillette College Presentation Hall
Sheridan College Campus
January 19 at 1:30–2:30 p.m. – Open Public Forum – Sheridan College CTEL Presentation Hall
Dr. Pamila Fisher, an associate of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) will be seeking input concerning the college’s current and future challenges and opportunities and preferred qualifications for the next president. This insures that the criteria will be inclusive and broad, and will encourage applications from highly qualified individuals with excellent experience, qualifications, and background.
The consultant will describe the search process and ask for input on these questions:
1.) What are the principal challenges and opportunities that the college must address in the next three to five years;
2.) What are the principal professional and personal characteristics we need in a president to insure that we successfully and effectively meet those challenges and opportunities; and
3.) Are there individuals who should be encouraged to become candidates for the position of president of the district?
The data collected in these forums and other venues will be used to develop a position profile that will be submitted to the Board of Trustees for their approval. This profile will then be used to recruit and evaluate all candidates for the position. If you are unable to attend a forum and would like to submit your ideas to the consultant, you may email her at pamfisher@bresnan.net. Additionally, in approximately two weeks there will be a website available with details and updates about the search process. You can reach that by going to our home page at www.sheridan.edu.
