Below you will find general consumer information for current students, prospective students and the general public. In addition, the policies for the Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD) set by the Board of Trustees, as well as corresponding procedures may be found here.
General Information
Northern Wyoming Community College District is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, and the Dental Hygiene Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Sheridan College Student Complaint Process
In support of our students and our commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience, Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD) has established a process for registering a complaint. And in compliance with regulatory agencies, NWCCD tracks complaints so that we may monitor quality of our service to students. Students have many avenues in which they may express concerns, including attempting to first resolve the issue with whomever the issue arose, if at all possible (this does not apply in cases of alleged sexual harassment, misconduct, or discrimination). Students may submit concerns or complaints using My Voice on the HUB portal or may write or call the Office of Student Affairs directly at (307) 675-0123. Federal financial aid programs at NWCCD includes the Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work-Study, Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, as well as Parent Plus loans. See if you qualify.

Truth in Lending Act
The Truth in Lending Act (TILA) protects you against inaccurate and unfair credit billing and credit card practices. It requires lenders to provide you with loan cost information so that you can comparison shop for certain types of loans.
The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires the Secretary of Education to collect information and provide Congress a report on financial and statistical information on men and women’s collegiate sports. As an institution that participates in a Student Financial Aid program, the Northern Wyoming Community College District participates in the collection of data.
Students
The Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their educational records.
It’s important that students understand their rights and responsibilities. Series 5000 of our NWCCD policies and procedures addresses many issues associated with student services. The College Catalog is another excellent reference.
Student Appeal Packet
A Student Appeals process, as outlined by procedure 2005.11 is available to all students for appeals related to financial aid, operations of the college, academic standing, or student life. Appeals are generally requests for a change in a decision or action, such as an academic or financial aid suspension. Letters expressing discontent or concern fall within the District’s complaint process and are handled accordingly.
NOTE: This process does not apply to Title IX, conduct, residency, and grade appeals.
Student Outcomes
The Student Right-to-Know Act requires postsecondary educational institutions to report the percentage of first-time, full-time, degree- or certificate-seeking students who graduate or transfer within 150 percent of the length of the program of study. Please refer to this web page for our graduation and transfer rates.
Student Cohort Retention is a fall-to-fall measure of student persistence within the federally-defined cohort.
Enrollee success is defined as the total number of passing grades from credit classes divided by the total number of grades. An annual rate includes summer, fall, and spring.
Wyoming Community College Commission (WCCC) develop performance benchmarks, outcome measures, and other performance indicators, which serve as the basis for annual reporting to the legislature and the governor. See report below.
